Yoga Courses - alternative therapies

Alexandra Dimitriou is a professional in the fields of yoga and alternative therapies, and has been practising yoga since 1974.

Her training largely took place in India where she was instructed by teachers of various schools. Specifically, at Maysor she learned Ashtanga yoga from Pattabhi Jois. Later both Manju Pattabhi Jois and Christina Karitinou would instruct her further in this field. Then, at Rishikesh, India she was trained in Iyengar yoga by Ousa Devi, followed by a thorough immersion in Integral Transformational and Healing yoga, Pranayama – Meditation taught by Swami Vidyanand in Delhi.

Also from 1974 onwards, her spiritual teacher has been Prem Rawat (Maharaji), widely known as ‘the ambassador of Peace’.

Whilst active with yoga Alexandra began studying alternative therapies, and was trained in the method of ‘phytodermie’ by Anhri Cheno and Franc Ceccini in 1982. In 1987 she attended the Dotollo institute where she was taught the technique of colon cleansing.

In 1982, Alexandra opened her own centre for alternative therapies, Vitality, in Athens. Vitality offers a wide range of therapies up to today, and is run by three of her four children, two of whom are doctors and one a physiotherapist.

These days Alexandra teaches yoga and also organizes detoxification and rejuvenation programmes involving yoga, therapeutic massage, colon cleansing and healthy nutrition.

The rejuvenation programmes on offer at Vitality can also be enjoyed with her presence outside Athens.
